Driven by a deep sense of purpose, our founder Dora Pesqueda set out on a mission. A mission to ensure that children in under-served communities throughout Arizona receive quality dental care and oral health education that they rightfully deserve. Throughout many years in the field of dentistry, Dora witnessed firsthand the unfortunate reality that many families and communities face each day. Families struggle to provide access to dental care and preventative services such as: dental screenings, cleanings, and oral health education. These unfortunate barriers included families of remote locations, limited access to a dentist, and their background and socioeconomic status. With an unwavering commitment to making a difference, Dora’s goal to bring an effective mobile dental outreach program has finally manifested. Dora's passion has allowed dental and convenience to meet families through comfort and ease of access.

OUR IDENTITY
TheSmileZone is a mobile nonprofit organization delivering compassionate and inclusive dental care to Arizona’s most vulnerable children and families.
We provide school-based and community-based outreach services to children in underserved communities, the foster care system, and those with special healthcare needs, many of whom face barriers due to trauma, developmental differences, or limited access to care.
Our team brings high quality dental services directly to where children learn and live, removing obstacles that prevent families from accessing preventive treatment. Through early intervention, oral health education, and essential dental supplies, we help children build healthy habits and brighter futures.

Many of the children we serve come from underserved communities, the foster care system, or have special healthcare needs. Some arrive with untreated decay, dental pain, or anxiety rooted in trauma. By providing accessible, compassionate care directly within schools and community settings, we reduce preventable emergencies, ease discomfort, and help children regain confidence in their smiles.
